New Zealand fiscal and postage stamps were overprinted for various revenue purposes. Some are given below. Counterpart Counterpart stamps were attached to duplicate (i.e. counterpart) documents provided that the full stamp duty had been paid on the original. The counterpart fee was 2s 6d. The first issue was in 1870 and the design was Die I of the 1867 Revenue issue. The stamp on the left is Die II and was issued in 1880. Concerning that missing FDC. I'm surprised that there should be none.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the online trading sites such as Trade me & E-bay.
Yes we have searched everywhere.
DeleteNothing! But I've left a place because I'm sure we'll find one.

Hi Mary, I recently came across your blog and I find it very interesting and informative. I was surprised when I saw the Cover for the 6th Issue as I recently came into possession of the cover. I have other versions of the 1960/67 covers and I am happy to send through some scans if would like any, the only one I don't have is the 1st Issue (missing the 10/- and £1). Thanks, Paul
ReplyDeleteHi Paul,
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can remember, we didn't have any problems finding the cover for the 6th Issue. Where we did struggle was in finding that cover showing the full set of the 1st Issue. I'm not sure where Allan found it but it was a very poor image and Asami did a lot of work on it before we could use it. In the process she lost the borders of the cover but I think she got it sharper and the colours very close now.
I have just come across a very colourful cover, not a FDC, that was sent to Angola. I have images of both the front and back. I am going to add it to my 5th post on this issue.
Yes I would like to view and scans you might wish to send me. I do not wish to publish my e-mail here so contact me again with another comment with your email. Just mark it clearly with the words "Non Publish."
Now a question from the owner of this blog. Did you have any trouble finding this page?
